Michael J. Vallerie
Mission Statement:
I am dedicated to the reform of policies, programs, and laws that adversely affect small business. I am a successful small business owner and employer with the insight into small business management that can be gained only by direct experience.
My past experience as an insurance representative has provided me with a unique perception of the plights of the small businessman. I did a tremendous amount of work with manufacturers, contractors and ambulatory services companies. As a result of the risk of injury associated with each occupation, all three of these industries are plagued by staggering costs for insurance premiums. As an insurance broker, I had the opportunity to work with ove 150 different small business owners on their business budgets and insurance programs. I shared in their frustrations regarding certain programs such as workmen’s compensation that were regularly abused by their employees. I witnessed their daily battle to assist their employees, but to resist being taken advantage of by them! Most lines of insurance are mandatory and a pre-requisite, a necessary requirement to doing business. I have extensive experience with them all.
